KinTape

Turn a relative’s voice notes into a bilingual keepsake for the birthday already on your calendar.

Their stories. In both your languages.

A meaningful finished gift has a clearer purchase trigger than an open-ended memory app. Original recordings plus reviewed translation can bridge generations, but digital value must compete with printed books.

Intended buyer

An adult in a bilingual family buying a parent’s birthday gift so younger relatives can understand the original stories.

The offer

15 source minutes, three audio chapters, a private page, PDF and one revision; 48-hour delivery.

First version

English–Spanish, 15 source minutes, transcript approval, three chapters, private sharing and deletion. No invented dates or deceased-person imitation.

Main risk

Emotional mistranslation and weak perceived value for a digital gift beside $99 print products.

When to stop or rethink

After 40 qualified sample views and 15 interviews, rework if fewer than 3 pay at least $59. Reduce scope if median review exceeds 45 minutes or corrections exceed 15% of orders.

First steps

  1. Before launch · Find the occasion

Recruit 25 opted-in prospects through a bilingual family network and two community partners. Show one completed, permissioned sample.

  2. First selling day · Sell five gift slots

Offer $79 gifts with 48-hour delivery. One buyer from 25 qualified invitees is a test assumption, not assured demand.

  3. After delivery · Check meaning and gift value

Measure corrections and reviewer minutes. Ask whether the buyer shared the gift and would buy another for a different relative.
