A ripple motif for Start of Winter. The collection pairs a long pierced metal bookmark with a painted enamel round-fan bookmark, explored as a browser-based design study.
Traditional seasonal signs
- Water begins to freeze 水始冰
- The ground begins to freeze 地始冻
- Pheasants enter the sea as clams 雉入大水为蜃
These are traditional poetic observations used in the design, rather than a modern scientific account. The seasonal date is approximately 7 Nov and varies by year.
