A peony motif for Grain Rain. The collection pairs a long pierced metal bookmark with a painted enamel round-fan bookmark, explored as a browser-based design study.
Traditional seasonal signs
- Duckweed spreads 萍始生
- Doves preen their feathers 鸣鸠拂其羽
- Hoopoes alight on the mulberry 戴胜降于桑
These are traditional poetic observations used in the design, rather than a modern scientific account. The seasonal date is approximately 20 Apr and varies by year.
