A blossom motif for Start of Spring. The collection pairs a long pierced metal bookmark with a painted enamel round-fan bookmark, explored as a browser-based design study.
Traditional seasonal signs
- The east wind thaws the ice 东风解冻
- Hibernating insects stir 蛰虫始振
- Fish rise to the ice 鱼陟负冰
These are traditional poetic observations used in the design, rather than a modern scientific account. The seasonal date is approximately 4 Feb and varies by year.
