A lotusleaf motif for Start of Summer. The collection pairs a long pierced metal bookmark with a painted enamel round-fan bookmark, explored as a browser-based design study.
Traditional seasonal signs
- Mole crickets chirp 蝼蝈鸣
- Earthworms come up 蚯蚓出
- Snake gourds grow 王瓜生
These are traditional poetic observations used in the design, rather than a modern scientific account. The seasonal date is approximately 6 May and varies by year.
