A sun motif for Summer Solstice. The collection pairs a long pierced metal bookmark with a painted enamel round-fan bookmark, explored as a browser-based design study.
Traditional seasonal signs
- Deer shed their antlers 鹿角解
- Cicadas begin to sing 蜩始鸣
- Crow-dipper sprouts 半夏生
These are traditional poetic observations used in the design, rather than a modern scientific account. The seasonal date is approximately 21 Jun and varies by year.
